Time Management for Creative People

I have just posted a link to a free e-book which you can read more about and download. Click on the tabs INSPIRATION/BOOKS. It started me thinking about how difficult it is to focus, remain motivated and meet deadlines as artists.

I personally get too easily distracted with technology and spend far too long checking e-mails, reading my RSS feeds, writing blog articles, tweaking my website etc etc and I have still not started any artwork! Those of us with families or have other jobs as well, must find it all a juggling act so my question to you all is:- HOW DO YOU REMAIN FOCUSED AS AN ARTIST AND MANAGE YOUR CREATIVE TIME SUCCESSFULLY? Does anyone have any tips or strategies to share?

When I was working and was shift work at that , I hardly ever found time to paint, but now I am retired, I paint every day if possible, I start about 10.30 in the morining and finish up about 2. to 3 in afternoon, if I am desperate to get a painting finished I will not answer phone whilst painting, housework and other things are forgotten until the painting is finished, I really dont know how people who work find time to do their art ,craft etc.....
