Hi Julie
Thank you for your welcome and for your kind comments. You commented on my backgrounds on my pictures you might be interested in how I acheived them. Although I use the pastel pencils for the main image I use soft pastel for the background, this gives the picture a great deal of depth and the two mediums work well together in this way.
Best regards Colin.
Dear Julie,
Thank you very much for your kind words! I've uploaded 40 paintings (illustrations and sketches also). I'm happy to join your community! I'll have a proper look around.

Hi Julie - thanks for commenting positively on my pigs. When they choose the pigs for the banner my husband had to laugh - said it's probably because of all the pig flue in the air -
I will stay in touch Julie. It has been a testing time of late. I have not been able to paint recently for all kinds of reasons (mainly problems with the nerve in my wrist making my hand numb), so I am a little bit stuffed with the amount of work that I now have to do. I wonder if we are tested in life, or just fluff it from time to time... hmmm!
Hi Julie... thanks for your boost. I see you have been doing more too. Fantastic. Love the roses. I am a 'pink' gal really. Anyway, what have you been up to? I have tons of work to complete for my first 'big' exhibition. The place is not a venue that most would recognise, but I have a solo exhibition and am pooping my knickers! Looking forward to it... will keep you posted! love J
Hello Julie, thank you, I appreciate your compliment very much!
I collect rocks in a river bed and select them by shape and smoothness, I am living quite far away from the river, so I go there once every three-four months and fill up the car! My house is like a cave, I store rocks everywhere and I have a rockpile in my garden, so when I need a certain type of rock I just look into my stockpile :))
