Good morning, sorry an australian saying. The worms are biting. It means that the stomach is empty and it is saying I am hungry. So the worms are biting in there. When I say things like that I forget we have international people who don't understand our meaning. You gave me a morning laugh......Have a great day......Sandy

Hi Tony, it is very overcast here as we have a category 4 cyclone hanging off the northern coast. They have cleared the tropical islands and the mainland cities are bracing themselves for it to cross over the land.

I decided to do the chimp in those colours of black, light grey, and a touch of tan. I put a very very soft green behind him and matted him in a single matt in a sft grey with a v groove. He has a black and silver frame. I am thinking of sending him off to a very big show. Haven't made up my mind yet. As it is 8.13am I better go and get some breakfast as the worms are starting to bit........Sandy

Hi Tony the chimp is pastel and I called it "Just thinking" He managed to get a h/c in a international art exhibition so I was happy with that. I have been doing a portrait but just about finished and ready for another painting. .......Sandy

Oh do I love your cows. They are fabulous. All your paintings are. I have just gone back to pastel and I am enjoying them. Just you have to put them behind glass with matts etc which makes the framing dearer then acrylic and oils. Thanking you for joining the site and sharing your wonderful paintings........Sandy

Hi Toni, funny you should say that about pastels, I feel exactly the same way, that they were an invaluable lesson and the very best possible thing for getting you out of a painting rut. I'd recommend every artist to try them out. They certainly had a positive effect on you. Love the cows.
Yes I'll put something into NEWA, don't know what yet though, last one I sold there was a bird on a stick! ..okay there was no stick, but a bird anyway :)

Wot? No birds on sticks? :0) Hiya Toni, good to see a familiar face on here. These pictures look great! Are you still doing any pastel work or have you switched completely to oils now?

Great work you are showing here my compliments.

Hi everyone, my name is Henk and I just wanted to introduce myself and hope that I can be a part of this nice community. I like this board because I love art en photography and I spend as much time as I can on it. I hope to get to know you better in the future.

Thanks for your kind comments re Henry. I really enjoyed that painting.

I love all of the pictures that you have posted. Now I want to paint cows too! Oh gosh... I am all over the place! I sometimes feel as if I am floundering about a bit, and I guess that we all do. Sometimes, though I lose direction, I must be somewhere on a compass... !

Thanks so much for the info about the NEWA site. Their 2008 exhibition is now closed, but I think that I will have a go at this. I have enough time to do something that will hopefully be memorable and sell.
